Happy !00th

:] Hellooooo all of you beautiful people!! This is my 100th post! Woo-Hoo! Its sort of like a little mile-stone in the blogging world. I am so grateful for all of you who read this blog, everyone who has ever commented, and everyone who encouraged me to do this. And I am also grateful for all of my fellow bloggers! You all give me alot of inspiration and are just too fabulous! <3

So nooowww that i'm all done with my cheesy little acadamy awards speech..:p
Ive been wondering what I was going to do with this post.
Having a blog is all about posting what I feel, like, and what inspires me.
Since its a fashion blog,  I still want to post whats current.
So, In lieu of this being a special post, I obviously want to post something very special.

We all were saddened by the tragic loss of Alexander Mcqueen. I was hoping his final collection would be shown, and rightly so, it was. It was shown in a quiet, respectful presentation by his team- "in a small, ornate room to privately invited groups of editors." Style.com states,

"Sarah Burton, his right hand, described how, in beginning this collection, McQueen had turned away from the world of the Internet, which he had so powerfully harnessed in his last show. "He wanted to get back to the handcraft he loved, and the things that are being lost in the making of fashion," she said. "He was looking at the art of the Dark Ages, but finding light and beauty in it. He was coming in every day, draping and cutting pieces on the stand." The 16 outfits shown had been 80 percent finished at the time of his death."

It was very ornate and different than what style.com rightly describes as the more plain direction that fashion is going. Digital images of angels and deamons, Churches ,and "religious iconography" are all reflected in this midieval inspired collection. Yet, the he reflected his past collections in this line. Gorgeous. Ladies and gentleman, I give you Alexander McQueen Fall 2010

“I'm interested in designing for posterity. People who buy McQueen are going to hand the clothes down to their children, and that's very rare today.”
